• Speedcraft is a low-cost, general-purpose rutile type electrode suitable for welding mild steel in all positions using AC or DC power sources.
• It has coating composition which promotes a smooth arc action, low spatter loss and good slag removal.
• Good strike and re-strike characteristics at 50 OCV make it suitable for use on home welders and industrial equipment.
• It has a rapid burn off rate and deposits a smooth convex weld bead with fine ripples.
• Speedcraft is recommended for welding a wide variety of carbon manganese steels and commercial mild steel.

Electrode selection tips:

Generally the thicker the material, the thicker the rod and the higher the amperage. One would have to try combinations of rod diameter and amperage for the best result. Using an inverter type welder allows for “fine tuning’ the rod and the amperage to suit the particular application.
