Power tools explained

For those of you who are not familiar with power tools; the variety available and what each one is used for, this article will tell you everything you need to know. Note: This article is for the beginner who still needs to be educated, however for the more skilled when it comes to power tools, industrial tools, hand tools and even adhesives you can contact us.

 
 
Drill Press

A drill press is an upright machine and is the most frequently used machine tool. They are mainly used for drilling holes, but can also be used for reaming, countersinking, and boring.

Electric Hand Drill

The electric hand drill is the first power tool you should purchase. Not only is it is used to drill holes, but it comes with a variety of attachments that turn it into a sander, paint mixer, screwdriver, saw, grinder, lathe. They come in both cordless and corded.

Table Saw

This power tool is most commonly known as a saw bench and is the most common piece for large wood working equipment.

A Wire Wheel

This is used to clean paint off bolts but be cautious as this machine can remove calluses and fingernails just as quick as it spits paint to under the workbench. 

Skil Saw

A portable cutting tool used to shorten studs.

Belt Sander

This is an electric sanding tool ideal if you want to incorporate major finishing touch-ups to an object that actually require minor touch-ups.

Pliers

If you want to round off the heads of your bolts, this is what you’ll use.

Two-ton Engine Hoist

This power tool is used to test the maximum tensile strength.

Band Saw

This large stationary power saw is used to cut aluminium sheets into smaller pieces. But be careful, this requires some skill when it comes to cutting onto the lines.

Straight Screwdriver

This power tool enables you to open a paint can very easily and will spare you a lot of effort and frustration using some other ‘un-handy’ tool.

Hammer

In the older days the hammer was employed as a weapon of war, but today it is more commonly used as a divining rod.
